Progressive
What is a progressive lens?
As we get older, we often have difficulty focusing on objects close-up and at arm's length. This is a natural condition called presbyopia. By the time we reach our forties, we have to strain to read newsprint or a menu in a dimly lit restaurant. 90% of people over 45 need some type of vision correction even if they have had refractive surgery.
To correct presbyopia, traditional solutions have included:
Reading glasses provide close-up vision only. Reading glasses must be taken on and off for mid-range and distance viewing.
Bifocal lenses have two viewing zones: one for seeing close-up objects and one for distance. Bifocal lenses have a well-defined single visible line separating the two viewing zones.
Progressive lenses have progressively more viewing power from the top to the bottom of the lens (sometimes referred to as "no-line bifocals"). Progressive lenses provide clear, continuous vision at all distances: reading, mid-range and far away -- so wearers enjoy more natural vision. Progressive lenses do not have the unattractive and disruptive segment line found in bifocals, so wearers not only see better, they look better as well.
What makes Percepta different from other progressive lenses?
Percepta by SOLA is the most advanced progressive lens available today. In fact, it's the only progressive lens to accurately address a wearer's complete vision correction.
Unlike other progressives, Percepta compensates for common nearsighted or farsighted vision problems, while enhancing the close-up vision for which progressive lenses are designed. Percepta provides wider, clearer, more comfortable vision than you'll find with other progressive lenses.
What can I expect from Percepta lenses?
The advanced technology of Percepta provides a wider area of clear vision and comfort for you. The lens design allows your eyes to focus quickly and easily at every distance -- whether you are threading a needle, viewing a computer screen, or reading a road sign. This greater ease of focus, combined with wider areas of clear vision means that you can wear Percepta lenses all day long with less eye strain or fatigue.
